CHESHIRE, CT (WFSB) – A Cheshire teacher resigned Wednesday following the viral spread of a politically charged video that led to public outcry.

Superintendent Cheshire confirmed that Annie Dunleavy, the teacher in question, had tendered her resignation after being put on leave at the beginning of the week.

Dunleavy, a teacher in the district, was placed on leave Monday pending an investigation into the controversial video.

The video, which was widely shared on social media, led to calls for action during a city council meeting on Tuesday, where community members voiced their concerns and demanded accountability.

In a statement released Wednesday, the Cheshire superintendent addressed the situation.

Dunleavy did not respond to Channel 3’s request for comment.
