Caleb Williams feels the “full support” of his teammates

The Bears have a new offensive coordinator, but Caleb Williams remains the team’s starting quarterback as they head into Sunday’s game against the Packers.

According to a report on Tuesday, there are some veteran Bears players who would prefer not the case. Williams didn’t address that report directly during a news conference Wednesday, but was asked if he feels he has the full support of his teammates at this point in his rookie season.

“I think so those guys are goodeasy,” Williams said. “We talk about it. I think I got all the support from them. I’ve had texts or calls or people coming up to me with this situation that just happened, coming up to me and saying, ‘We’ve got your back, we’re with you.’ You know, things like that and “Let’s go.” That kind of mentality and attitude has been what it’s been the last two days. And that’s just how it was.”

Williams said he hopes the move to Thomas Brown as offensive coordinator “gives us a little more explosion as an offense,” and he’ll have to do that if they want to make sure no one starts asking for a quarterback change in Chicago.
