FISHERSVILLE, Va. (WHSV) – A former Augusta Health employee is facing a total of 10 charges in Augusta General Court for credit card fraud, including felonies and misdemeanors.

According to court records, Jill Claffey of Lexington was charged with the following crimes that occurred in September and October:

• Three felony counts of credit card theft
• Three counts of credit card forgery
• Three misdemeanor counts of credit card fraud less than $1,000
• A misdemeanor charge of obtaining money by false pretenses

Augusta Health issued a statement Wednesday afternoon regarding the situation:

The statement also said it cannot discuss personnel matters, but is “taking immediate action to protect patients and their belongings (and) wants to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all.”
