CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo. (KFVS) – A 26-year-old Caruthersville man is accused of breaking into a home Tuesday, Nov. 12 and violating a protective order.

According to a probable cause affidavit, James E. Heathcock went to a Caruthersville home around 12:30 a.m. to ask a person he had a court order to stay away from deleting anything on his phone.

The victim told officers that Heathcock took their phone to remove the item, closed and locked the door and asked them not to go through the order of protection.

The victim then told Heathcock to leave and he did.

Officers later arrested Heathcock on first-degree burglary and violation of an order of protection on adult first-offense charges.

Heathcock was booked into the Pemiscot County Justice Center, where he is being held without bond.
