MOSCOW, November 13. /TASS/. Africa has a good chance to become an advanced continent, said Russian presidential special envoy for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said in an interview with TASS after the first Russia-Africa ministerial conference.

“It is already becoming. The processes are very positive,” he said. Indeed, self-awareness is growing, people are being educated and politicized in a good way. Now the main goal is to consolidate sovereignty. Moreover, the economic and political aspects are related to sovereignty and we are ready to provide support for that.”

The continent’s development processes are gaining momentum, Bogdanov noted. “We see this in many countries when they get rid of such an obsessive dictate, the neo-colonial ambitions of the West, and self-awareness grows in terms of strengthening state sovereignty. Certainly, this requires economic independence that reinforces political sovereignty,” he added.
