Nitish Kumar touches the feet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the event in Bihar

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar took everyone by surprise at an event in Darbhanga when he tried to touch Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s feet. In a video that has gone viral on social media, 73-year-old Nitish Kumar is seen walking towards 74-year-old PM Modi with his hands folded and bending down to touch his feet. the third such case this year.

However, PM Modi quickly stops the JD(U) leader from touching his feet and is seen shaking hands. Another video that went viral from the same event shows Modi pulling Nitish Kumar to his side as party workers corral the prime minister.

However, this is not the first time that Nitish Kumar has done this. In June, Nitish Kumar surprised everyone present in the Central Hall of Parliament when he tried to touch Modi’s feet. He also had briefly touched PM Modi’s feet at a Lok Sabha election rally in Nawada in April this year.

Nitish Kumar’s JD(U) emerged as the BJP’s second biggest ally in the Lok Sabha polls and helped it form the government for the third consecutive term this year. The BJP failed to secure a majority on its own and depended on the JD(U) and Chandrababu Naidu’s TDP to cross the majority mark.

“NITISH KUMAR BROUGHT BIHAR OUT OF THE RAAJ JUNGLE”

The incident took place at an event in Darbhanga where PM Modi laid the foundation stone of AIIMS and inaugurated several key infrastructure projects worth around Rs 12,100 crore.

At the event, PM Modi praised Nitish Kumar for transforming the state and bringing it out of “jungle raaj”, a swipe at the RJD and Lalu Prasad Yadav.

“Nitish Kumar has created a model of good governance (shushashan), taking the state out of the jungle raj era. No praise is too great for this achievement,” PM Modi said.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the improvements made to health infrastructure in Bihar under the NDA rule.

“Bihar is witnessing a lot of development. The previous Bihar government never bothered about health infrastructure. They made false promises but the situation has improved since Nitish Kumar came to power,” Modi said.
