Kansas City police take a man into custody on a felony warrant after a standoff

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A 911 call from a family member about a man making threats led Kansas City police to a confrontation with a man with an outstanding felony warrant.

The Kansas City Missouri Police Department said officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of Kensington Avenue for a medical call Tuesday evening.

Before police arrived, they determined the man inside the residence had a felony warrant.

When officers arrived in the area, they made contact with the man who they said was very agitated and refused to come out of the home. After verbal commands to the man to get out of the house failed, a standoff was called with additional resources and trained negotiators.

At 10:55 p.m., KCPD said the man came out of the home and was taken into custody.

This is a developing story. KCTV will update it as more information becomes available.
