WASHINGTON – President-elect Donald Trump appointed William McGinley to serve as White House Counsel to the former President assembles quickly key players in his next administration.

McGinley, a partner at the Washington law firm Holtzman Vogel, served as White House cabinet secretary during Trump’s first presidency.

During the 2024 election, McGinley had a top role with the Republican National Committee’s “External Counsel for Election Integrity,” which the Trump-led RNC brought together to target election fraud.

“Bill is a smart and tenacious advocate who will help me advance our America First agenda as I fight for election integrity and against law enforcement harmonization,” Trump said in a statement Tuesday.

McGinley also served as general counsel to the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

Trump moved quickly to build his next White House. On Tuesday, he nominated his ex Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe as Director of the Central Intelligence Agency and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee as US Ambassador to Israel.

The incoming Republican president’s picks include his top 2024 campaign adviser Susie Wiles as White House Chief of Staff; Representative. Elise StefanikRN.Y., as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations; longtime immigration advisor Stephen Miller as Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy; Tom Homan oversee deportation policy and aviation security; former New York representative. Lee Zeldin to lead the Environmental Protection Agency; and Florida Rep. Mike Waltz as national security adviser.
