from over 40 new restaurants that opened in metro Phoenix in October, nearly a fifth of them were in Scottsdale, including a Mexican food truck, a European-inspired wine bar and two ice cream shops.

Several restaurants also hosted grand reopenings in October. OHSO Brewery has reopened its Scottsdale location, now with OHSO’s first test kitchen. Another Scottsdale restaurant, Etta, has reopened as a “reimagined” concept with a renovated dining room and new menu. And Paradise Valley Burger Co. closed its Phoenix location, reopening the next day in Scottsdale.

Here’s a look at 9 restaurants and bars that are now open in Scottsdale.

Etta Reimagined

Scottsdale Italian restaurant Etta had a grand reopening after temporarily closing for renovations and redesign. The completely reimagined space now offers a brand new menu that includes house-baked focaccia, Ossetian caviar, Parmesan truffle-crusted filet mignon, chicken parmesan a la raj, lobster gnochetti and grilled asparagus.

Fire and braids

Fire & Braids is a new mobile food trailer at Pinnacle Brewing Company in Scottsdale. Owner Brenda Valdez offers a rotating menu of Mexican recipes from her family in Michoacán, such as corn soups, carne asada de mesquite and al pastor tacos, street corn nachos and crispy potato mini tacos.

Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream

Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream has opened its newest location near Cave Creek. The range of local flavors includes banana cream pie, black raspberry, pecan, cherry, vanilla, confetti brownie and pumpkin cheesecake chunks.

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is now open in the Scottsdale Quarter. It is the second location in Scottsdale. Jeni’s classic flavors include Brambleberry Crisp and Salty Caramel.

OHSO Brewery & Test Kitchen

OHSO Brewery has reopened its Scottsdale location after temporarily closing for renovations. It now includes the first OHSO test kitchen, offering a rotating menu of items that may later be available at other locations. Test Kitchen’s first menu includes burgers, salads and soups.

Paradise Valley Burger Co.

After closing its Phoenix location, Paradise Valley Burger Co.’s relocated restaurant. is now open in Scottsdale. The restaurant is a Valley favorite for its unique burgers, such as the burger brulee, booze burger, and the cinco diablo, or “Demon Slayer” burger.

Pinard wine bar

Pinard Wine Bar is now open in Scottsdale, offering a wide selection of wines and European-inspired dishes such as beef bourguignon, ratatouille, chicken Parisian and smoked linguine. Wine club members enjoy curated bi-monthly wine releases and other benefits.

Stemistry

Stemistry, a coffee and flower shop that was founded by a 15-year-old, has opened its third Valley location in Scottsdale’s Roadrunner apartment complex. Chemistry offers a large beverage menu including classic coffees, lattes, frozen drinks, teas, protein shakes and Italian juices. Food options include sandwiches and pastries for breakfast and lunch.

The real food market

The creators of True Food Kitchen have opened True Food Market in Scottsdale, offering both dine-in and take-out options. Menu options include flatbreads, salads and gluten-free fried chicken.
