A horrifying accident at a local fair in Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh, left a 14-year-old girl seriously injured after her hair became entangled in a wheel spoke. The incident, which happened on Saturday night, was filmed and has since gone viral on social media.

The girl, identified as Dharmendra Katheria’s daughter Anuradha, was riding the big wheel with friends when her hair got caught in one of the ride’s rotating rods. The rotational force of the car pulled her hair and scalp from her head, resulting in serious injuries.

Bystanders filmed footage showing her hair and scalp hanging from the wheel stem as locals helped her off. Blood could be seen pouring from her head and she appeared unsteady on her feet due to trauma in the video of the incident.

Anuradha was rushed to a nearby hospital for initial treatment before being shifted to PGI Hospital in Lucknow due to the extent of her injuries, where she is currently undergoing intensive care.

Following the accident, Anuradha’s mother lodged a complaint with the police, prompting the authorities to launch an investigation. A case has been registered against the operator of the ferris wheel, who allegedly fled the scene immediately after the incident. Efforts are being made to locate and hold the operator accountable.

The accident occurred during a two-day annual fair in Kannauj that featured several rides and stalls.
