Republican Dave McCormick said Monday he is off to Washington, D.C. for his primary orientation to the U.S. Senate, even as House Democratic leaders are withholding an invitation while they wait for the remaining votes in Pennsylvania to be counted.

The Associated Press declared McCormick the winner in an upset victory Friday, but his opponent, Democratic Sen. Bob Casey, did not budge.
