In a video from decades ago, Sean Diddy Combs shared simple advice for young children – “Have God in your life.” Now, as the rapper faces serious charges in a high-profile case involving allegations of sex trafficking, racketeering and other crimes, this message has resurfaced, drawing attention and mixed reactions from the public. Diddy, arrested in September and awaiting trial in a federal detention center in Brooklyn, is accused of orchestrating a criminal ring that exploited women through coercion and violence.

Facing serious charges including sex trafficking and using blackmail to silence victims, Diddy’s next trial is scheduled for May 5, The Mirror reports.

Recent attention to Diddy’s past was sparked when a clip of his 1997 appearance on The Rosie O’Donnell Show began circulating online again. In the video, Diddy is joined by fellow rapper Mase. Together, the duo appeared on the talk show where Rosie O’Donnell asked him about his rapid success. His answer was humble. “We feel blessed, we thank God for everything. We pray constantly and know that he is responsible for all that has been blessed and granted to us,” he said.

“That’s what we try to tell young kids, that it’s important to have God in your life,” he added.

Meanwhile, as legal proceedings heat up, Diddy’s legal team tried to get an order to limit public statements from witnesses, but US federal judge Arun Subramanian, a judge of Indian origin, denied that request.

In his ruling, Justice Subramanian explained that such a restriction would unfairly limit free speech, especially for people who may not even be directly involved in the case. “Not all alleged victims will be participants in this case, and a blanket restriction on their speech will silence individuals who may never have anything to do with the proceedings here,” he said.

The judge’s order noted that the requested order would affect “the numerous pending civil cases involving Combs.” He also suggested that Diddy’s legal team could take other actions in individual civil cases to address any prejudicial public statements rather than impose a major restriction. informs The Mirror.
