Temperatures on Tuesday return to seasonal normal

HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) — Much needed rain yesterday morning leaves Tuesday nice and cool with highs in the mid to upper 50s. Overnight lows will be even colder in the upper 30s.

HEADLINES:

  • Cooler and drier Tuesday
  • Rain returns mid-week
  • Warmer weather tomorrow

DISCUSSION:

After a long stretch of above-average temperatures, Tuesday will find itself in the mid to upper 50s. For this time of year, temperatures normally hover around 59 degrees and most cities in eastern Kentucky will be around that benchmark. Unfortunately, we’ll warm up for Wednesday with highs in the upper 60s, but cooler temperatures will return as we move into Thursday.

Rain chances break today, leaving beautiful sunny skies during the day and clear skies overnight. Clouds will lift on Wednesday and rain will return in the afternoon through Thursday.

Looking ahead:

Rain chances will taper off on Friday, leaving partly cloudy skies on Saturday, but we’re not done with rain this week. Starting overnight Sunday, rain chances return and continue into the next work week.

After rain moves into the region on Thursday, temperatures will return to normal, but temperatures will begin to rise as the weekend winds down.
