A man has been charged after an assault and robbery at a shop in Cambuslang.

Officers responded to the store on Glebe Place at around 5.10pm on Monday after receiving reports of a disturbance.

Emergency services attended and police closed surrounding roads, urging people to avoid the area.

The roads were reopened four hours later.

A 46-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident.

Following further investigation, the man was also arrested and charged with robbery at the same store on November 9.

Police have confirmed that a 46-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

The man is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

A report will be sent to the Fiscal Prosecutor.
