A cyclist was airlifted to hospital following a crash on a rush hour road yesterday evening.

The A2 near Barham was closed while police and paramedics attended the scene of the crash, which saw a car and a cyclist collide on the coast road.

The cyclist was taken by air ambulance to a London hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

A police spokesman added: “Kent Police were called at 6.19pm on Monday 11 November to a collision involving a car and a cyclist on the A2 near Barham.

“Officers and paramedics attended the scene where the A2 was closed to allow the air ambulance to land.

“The cyclist was taken to a London hospital where he was treated for his injuries.”
