4 accused in street shootings that left 2 dead, 5 injured | News, Sports, Jobs

DETROIT (AP) — Four people have been charged in a shooting at an outdoor gathering in Detroit that left two dead and five others injured.

Johnny Lee Marsh III, 25, Eladeo Garcia, 22, and Alfonso Anaya, 18, were arraigned Saturday on first-degree murder, assault with intent to commit murder and other charges, a the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement Monday.

Amber McIntee, 22, was charged with tampering with evidence and lying about allegations to a police officer.

Officers responding to complaints of a large gathering along a street on the city’s west side saw shots fired from a vehicle into a crowd of people around 1:30 a.m. on the 3 November, the prosecutor’s office said.

Officers followed the vehicle and arrested Garcia and Marsh. Anaya and McIntee were arrested three days later.

A 15-year-old boy from Detroit and a 19-year-old man from Southgate died in the shooting. The five injured are between 16 and 18 years old.

The shooting occurred following an alleged argument, according to the prosecutor’s office.

Marsh and McIntee requested court-appointed attorneys. An attorney was not listed for Anaya. The Associated Press left a message Monday seeking comment from Garcia’s attorney.

A probable cause conference was scheduled for Nov. 19, followed by a Nov. 26 preliminary hearing.
