Alex Jones reveals Infowars could shut down as its assets are auctioned off to reimburse Sandy Hook victims for bogus claims.

Alex Jones has warned his viewers that Infowars could shut down in the coming days as it prepares for its assets to be auctioned.

The bid stems from Jones’ personal bankruptcy case, which he filed in late 2022 after Sandy Hook families were awarded nearly $1.5 billion in lawsuits in Connecticut and Texas over his claims that the school shooting was a hoax.

Prospective buyers who have been approved after submitting bids and confidentiality agreements will be able to participate in a live auction on Wednesday.

The conspiracy theorist said on his show Monday that depending on who buys the company, Infowars may have to shut down.

“Infowars could be shut down on Wednesday if a hostile buyer puts it into action. Infowars will continue if the good guys manage to win the bid,” Jones told X.

He noted that crews were taking inventory and preparing for the auction while he was on the air.

“Wednesday afternoon, Infowars, the equipment … and a bunch of other things are in a federal bankruptcy auction,” Jones said.

“I saw the auctioneers inside the building surveying me from the last time they were here to make sure everything was here.

“Everything labeled, everything marked, this desk, these tables, this microphone. I’m in the control room right now, so that’s as close as it gets.

Jones vowed to continue his talk show until the last minute and said he was pursuing other means to keep the program alive.

“The good guys say they’re going to buy it… as the countdown starts, if the bad guys buy this in less than 48 hours, then we’ll know. I will continue to broadcast until they show up and say they want to close it for the day, he said.

“I’ll stay on the air until the last minute because we don’t give up until the last minute.”

Jones has made millions of dollars over the years selling nutritional supplements, clothing, survival gear, books and other items he promotes on his shows, broadcast on the Internet and on dozens of radio stations.

It is unclear how much money would be raised by selling Infowars and Jones’ assets and how much money the Sandy Hook families would receive.

Jones has about $9 million in personal assets, according to court filings. Free Speech Systems has about $6 million in cash on hand and about $1.2 million in inventory, according to previous court testimony.

Both opponents and supporters of the fringe Internet show and radio host have expressed interest in auctioning off the Infowars properties it has built up over the past 25 years. They include Roger Stone, an ally of Jones and Donald Trump, and progressive anti-Jones media groups.

For now, Jones’ personal social networks, including his account on X, formerly known as Twitter, with 3 million followers, are not up for sale, but legal proceedings over whether they should be auctioned are ongoing.

Sandy Hook families sued Jones and his company for defamation and emotional distress for repeatedly saying on his show that the 2012 shooting that killed 20 first-graders and six educators in Newtown, Connecticut, it was a hoax staged by crisis actors to push for more gun control.

The parents and children of many of the victims testified that they were traumatized by Jones’ false conspiracies and the threats of his followers.

Jones, who has since admitted the shooting took place, is appealing the rulings.
