Oklahoma Man Arrested in Magee for Trafficking in Controlled Substances

MAGEE, Miss. (WLBT) – An Oklahoma man was arrested in Mississippi after officers found six pounds of marijuana, ten bottles of THC-infused canna syrup and 83 THC vape cartridges in his vehicle.

The Magee Police Department says at 8:50 p.m., Saturday, officers conducted a traffic stop on Highway 49 South at Siloam Road on a vehicle with no tag lights.

Once officers approached the vehicle, a strong odor of marijuana was detected.

The driver, Gavin Michah Bowen, also had a suspended license and no proof of insurance.

He was arrested and taken to the Magee Police Department for booking and processing.

He is charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, driving with a suspended license, improper equipment and no proof of insurance.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. In addition, it is important to note that marijuana remains illegal in Mississippi except for specific medical regulations. The medicinal use of marijuana is regulated separately and should not be confused with the illegal possession or sale of marijuana and related products.
