James Carville Says Democrats Couldn’t Get Rid of Police Funding ‘Sickness’, Wake Up

Democratic strategist James Carville feels it Vice President Kamala Harris failed to prevail on Election Day because Democrats could not shake the “stink” of the “police defunding” movement and awakening.

President-elect Donald Trump tapped Harris to claim the White House, leaving Democrats wondering where they went wrong. Carville, a former adviser to Bill Clinton, who was a prominent media presence throughout the 2024 presidential race, he feels the Democratic Party has become obsessed with “identitarianism,” a word he uses because he doesn’t like the term “woke.” according to the New York Times.

“We could never wash away the stink,” Carville told the Times, adding that “police defunding” was “the three dumbest words in the English language.”

“It’s like when you get smoke on your clothes and you have to wash them over and over again. Now people run away from it like the devil runs away from holy water,” Carville said.

The Times added that Carville gave Harris “credit for not stooping to her gender and ethnicity.”

Last week, Carville indicated he was still trying to make heads or tails of the election results.

“I don’t know what percentage of that defeat is because we didn’t buy into the message of change or we held onto something for too long — you know, there was a flaw in our strategy and presentation,” Carville said.

He continued, “I’ll have to reassess. I’m sure I’ll find something to make me feel good again, but right now, today, it’s hard.”

Before the election, Carville predicted that Harris would win because Trump is “a stone lunatic.”

“She’s got more money, more energy, she’s got a more united party, she’s got better surrogates, and he’s crazy,” Carville told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” when asked why he thought the vice president will be the winner.
