EDINBURGH, Scotland (AP) — Scotland forwards Jack Dempsey, Max Williamson and Gregor Brown have been ruled out of playing Portugal at Murrayfield on Saturday.

Dempsey and Williamson suffered hand and shoulder injuries in the 32-15 home defeat to South Africa on Sunday.

Brown had played against Fiji the week before and not against South Africa, but had a rib injury.

Scotland called up Glasgow prostitute Johnny Matthews and Scarlets standout Alec Hepburn.

Matthews was a surprise omission from the initial squad due to his form. He is around the 2022 squad but has only played once, against Romania as emergency cover in last year’s Rugby World Cup.

Former England prop Hepburn has been handed all four of Scotland’s caps off the bench in this year’s Six Nations.

Meanwhile, Scotland’s Scott Cummings faces a disciplinary hearing on Tuesday following his 20-minute red card against South Africa for a crocodile throw.
