Trump supporter Kid Rock has this post-election message for America

One of President-elect Donald Trump’s most public supporters, Kid Rock, uploaded a video to social media over the weekend that mixed both his celebrity persona with a real post-election message to voters.

The 140-second video was the first uploaded by Kid Rock on X, formerly Twitter, since a post two days before the election on Tuesday, November 5, when rallied his followers to “Vote Trump.”

In most recent postnative Romeo — born Bob Ritchie — emerges from behind a door wearing a signature Kid Rock outfit, complete with a white fedora hat that reads “MAGA,” the acronym for Trump’s campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again.”

The text overlaying the video advertises the post as “Kid Rock Election Reaction.”

The video begins with Kid Rock wearing sunglasses smoking a cigar and taking a microphone. Without saying a word, he then lowers the microphone – perhaps a nod Trump’s decisive victory — before grabbing his legs and raising his middle finger to the camera.

It’s a short gesture that aligns with Kid Rock’s rocker-evil celebrity persona.

The video then quickly pivots in pitch.

After the footage cuts away from the hard-rocker, a second scene begins, this time with words announcing that the next segment will serve as “Bob Ritchie’s Election Reaction.”

Kid Rock emerges from behind the door again, this time wearing typical Michigan civilian clothes: a t-shirt, shorts, Detroit Tigers cap, glasses, and what appears to be an arthritis wristband.

He sits in a chair, crosses one leg over the other and delivers a message aimed at Trump supporters, apparently meant to promote unity with the Republican’s detractors.

“First of all, let me convey to my family, friends and supporters that now is not the time to be happy,” Ritchie said in the video. “We have to remember that most of our friends on the left are good people who want the same things in life as we do, but they just think differently about how to get there.”

As he speaks, the words are superimposed over images of American flags, suburban neighborhoods and a Kid Rock concert.

“Now is the time to be the bigger man, extend an olive branch and unite all the reasonable people of this great nation,” Ritchie said. “God has blessed America, and together with President Trump, we will make America great again.”

The video ends with Kid Rock singing the ballad, “American Rock ‘n’ Roll,” from his 2017 album, “Sweet Southern Sugar.”

A final image shows the poster for Kid Rock’s upcoming “Rock the Country” Tour.which includes two meetings in June in Hastings.

Kid Rock remains one of Trump’s most outspoken celebrity supporters dating back to the Republican’s first term as president. The musician appeared several times with Trump at the White House and on the campaign trail, including in Michigan.

While Kid Rock’s support for Trump has sometimes embroiled the musician in divisive political debates, the celebrity is no stranger to extending an olive branch to the president-elect’s opponents.

Last month, for example, Kid Rock exchanged friendly words with fellow Michigan-raised musician Eminemwho endorsed Democratic candidate Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.

“I love Eminem. We’ve been friends for many years,” Kid Rock said last month. “I don’t agree with his politics, but I give him and people like Taylor Swift credit for standing up and not being afraid to speak their minds. Thinking differently and having the freedom to do so is what makes this country great.”
