Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott addressed the locker room Sunday after the team’s 34-6 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, informing them that he will fly to New York on Monday to see a specialist for his hamstring injury, according to ESPN. Todd Archer.

The specialist may recommend surgery for Prescott, which would require a three-month recovery and effectively end his season. If surgery is not required, he faces a minimum of 6-8 weeks on the sidelines.

If Prescott underwent the surgery, it would reduce the chances of re-injury in the future.

Prescott signed a new contract before the 2024 season worth $240 million through 2028, making him the highest-paid player in NFL history at the time.

The 31-year-old suffered the injury late in the third quarter in the Cowboys’ 27-21 loss to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 9.

After the injury, Prescott told reporters, “It’s something I’ve never felt,” according to USA Today’s Lorenzo Reyes.
