TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The day without motor vehicles or Day without cars (CFD) in Jakarta has been canceled for one day as it coincides with the commemoration of Heroes’ Day on Sunday, November 10, 2024. This was announced directly by the Jakarta Capital Special Region Transport Agency.

“In connection with the commemoration of Heroes’ Day, the Car Free Day (HBKB) on November 10 has been cancelled,” Instagram account @dishubdkijakarta wrote on Thursday, November 7, 2024.

In the post, it was explained that the cancellation of the car-free day is based on Article 5(1) of Regulation no. 12 of the Jakarta Special Capital Region Governor of 2016 regarding the implementation of HBKB.

“Implementation of HBKB may be canceled if a special activity/event is taking place at the same time,” the article said. It is also specified that the specific purpose includes national and international activities that require traffic regulation.

Through the social media platform Instagram, the Jakarta Transport Agency also announced the location of the Heroes’ Day commemoration, which will be held at the Heroes’ Cemetery area in South Jakarta. It is stated that the commemoration will begin on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at 05:00 until completion.

“#TemanDishub is advised to avoid those road sections for the convenience of your journey,” said the written statement from the @dishubdkijakarta post.

According to carfreeday.org, Day without cars in the Special Capital Region of Jakarta it is usually concentrated around Sudirman Road to MH Thamrin Road. Private vehicles are prohibited from passing through the area between 06:00 and 10:00.
