Sunday wet but calm forecast for Veterans Day

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Rain will affect our weekend. The threat of heavy rain will gradually diminish as we head into the afternoon. Sunday afternoon/evening won’t be a total washout, but watch out for passing showers. The rain will clear by Monday for the Veterans Day festivities. Unfortunately, the ground may still be wet.

Our next cold front is scheduled to arrive mid-week. The front is forecast to approach on Wednesday. Tropical moisture, linked to a dying Rafael, will once again flow north ahead of the front, allowing rain chances to increase. Scattered showers and thunderstorms can be expected Wednesday through Thursday morning. The front will push and produce a slight temperature change. We’ll feel it more during the early morning Friday into the weekend with lows in the 50s.

Temperatures will start to drop early next week. We’ll be back up to 80° by Sunday afternoon. Another cold front appears just outside the 10-day forecast. We’ll cross our fingers for a stronger push of cooler air with this one.
