Hyderabad: The Telangana Cyber ​​Security Bureau (TGCSB) in the last six months they have arrested 165 people who were allegedly involved in 795 cases of cyber crime in the state and 3,357 cases across the country.

Director, TGCSB, Shikha Goel said that seven cyber crime police stations have been set up in the state and are functioning from 2024. The teams have developed clues to identify, trace and locate the cyber criminals involved.


“So far, 165 criminals involved in various cases from Telangana and other states have been caught. The information about the suspects detained by the TGSCB has also been passed on to police stations across the country,” she said.

During the investigation, the police found that the fraudsters were involved in various cyber crimes such as part-time jobs, business investment fraud (stock trading), digital arrests, loan fraud, cyber slavery, hacking , advertising fraud, impersonation, matrimonial fraud and sextortion. People were involved in different roles like operating mule accounts, bank account providers, account operators, SIM providers, bank clerk, travel agents etc.

The arrested persons are from Andhra Pradesh, Assam, New Delhi, Gujrat, Odisha, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Maharashtra and West Bengal.

Criminal Profiling Analysis:

• 45% are graduates and postgraduates including B.Tech, MBA, MCA; 20% intermediate, 35% of them are below SSC and illiterate

• 34% of them are business people including hotels, restaurants, real estate etc., 21% are self-employed people including digital content creators, taxi drivers, gym trainers, event managers, RMP doctors etc. ;

• 14% in private jobs, which include workers in gas depots, clothing stores, taxes, delivery services, etc.; 14% of them are unemployed; 9% are students; 5% of them are farmers and workers; 3% of them are governmental. employee

• 49% of them are in the 21-30 age group; 28% in the 31 to 40 age group; 10% are in the 41 to 50 age group; 5% are under 20 years old; 8% are over 50 years old
