TAYLOR MILL, Ky. (FOX 56)—Kenton County police arrested a man Thursday in connection with an identity theft investigation that began in Florida.

Thursday, the Kenton County Police Department wrote on Facebook that officers arrested John Sharp, 34, of Taylor Mill, after search warrants were served for a residence there and another residence in Ryland Heights.

The search for Sharp was based on an identity theft case that began in Florida, Kenton County police said.

Sharp was booked into the Kenton County Detention Center on Thursday and charged with:

• Three counts of theft of identity of another without consent

• Five counts of second-degree forgery

• Possession of a forgery device

• Falsification of business records

• Second degree perjury

• Trafficking in stolen identities

• Financial information traffic

• Unlawful access to a computer in the first degree

• Misuse of computer information

• First Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine – First Offense

An investigation into the alleged identity theft remains ongoing. Sharp’s bond was set at $50,000, according to court documents.
