WWE’s Randy Orton has been sidelined indefinitely following an attack by Kevin Owens on Friday night’s SmackDown that left Orton suffering from cervical cord neurapraxia.

Orton’s injury occurred after Owens executed a piledriver, a move banned in WWE, on the 44-year-old, who had recently returned from a serious back injury.

The two were set to face each other at WWE Crown Jewel on November 2, but the match was scrapped after the two clashed in a wild brawl before the opening bell.

The former friends-turned-foes clashed in a heated showdown in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia that quickly escalated into a ringside brawl. Chaos spilled into the crowd, culminating in Owens sending Orton through a table.

In the first SmackDown since the Crown Jewel, Owens showed no signs of forgiving his former tag team partner and may have even sent Orton into early retirement.
