Suspect arrested after Pelham rampage leads to foot chase

PELHAM — A string of break-ins at Pelham Self Storage today culminated in a dramatic foot chase and the arrest of a 29-year-old Dracut man, according to the Pelham Police Department.

In recent weeks, officers investigated thefts at the warehouse on Bridge Street, eventually deducing that the culprit accessed the site through the woods behind the property.

Around 12:40 p.m., their investigation led them to search the wooded area where they discovered a man, later identified as Chase Bryant, among items believed to have been stolen.

After attempting to detain Bryant, he fled on foot.

Although officers lost him momentarily after he crossed Bridge Street in heavy traffic, a quick perimeter was established with the help of the Salem NH Police Department and the Dracut Police Department.

The search intensified after a Lori Lane resident reported a suspicious figure in her yard.

The ensuing pursuit allowed Pelham officers to apprehend Bryant.

After a preliminary evaluation at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, he was transported to the Pelham Police Department on multiple charges, including theft, receiving stolen property and resisting arrest.

Bryant was held without bail and transported to the Valley Street Jail, with his arraignment scheduled for Nov. 12 in Salem District Court.

Officials anticipate additional charges as the investigation continues.

Lt. Brian Barbato encouraged anyone with information to contact the Pelham Police Department.
