Indiana got the first down, but Elijah Sarratt dropped a fade near the goal line that would have allowed the Hoosiers to burn out the clock and potentially take a two-score lead.

Michigan will start the drive from their own 20. The Wolverines have all three timeouts and the two-minute warning.

Michigan has . The Wolverines forced another Indiana three-and-out after two TJ Guy sacks, and the Hoosiers went just 26 yards, giving Michigan the ball at IU’s 34. Donovan Edwards drove Michigan inside the 10-yard line, aided by a personal foul against Indiana, before passing to Mullings to push it two runs on third-and-fourth-and-goal. Michigan took to the air to try to tie the game on the two-point conversion, but Davis Warren was nearly intercepted.

Michigan got another stop on defense, this time a punt, and got back into Indiana territory far enough to get into Zvada’s zone, who had enough leg to make his career-long field goal and the third of the game. The 12-play drive went just 44 yards, with most of that coming on the ground from Kalel Mullings and Donovan Edwards.

Michigan ran three straight after the turnover and picked up just four yards and two runs for no gain. Instead of trying to punt from Indiana’s 3-yard line to make it a one-score game, Michigan settled for a 22-yard field goal from Dominic Zvada to cut the deficit to 11.

Michigan’s defense had its first big play of the second half. The Wolverines had to punt on their opening possession after a first down, but pinned Indiana at their own 4-yard line with a punt. On Indiana’s first play, Kurtis Rourke attempted a short punt, but Berry jumped the route for an interception at the Indiana 7-yard line.

Michigan’s defense was able to mitigate the damage after the fumble and hold Indiana to a 40-yard field goal. Indiana seemingly reached the goal line on a completion over the middle to Myles Price, but offside penalties wiped out the 13-yard gain at the 2-yard line, and Indiana eventually had to settle for a field goal.

Pregame Notes Michigan vs. Indian

Last week’s loss to Oregon highlighted Michigan’s flaws on offense again, as the Ducks were hyper-efficient on offense in the first half to pull away with the comfortable victory. The Wolverines stick with quarterback Davis Warren and will try to make the run game work against Indiana’s talented defensive line.

Although their top goals are far from being achieved now michigan is playing for pride and to play spoiler to indiana and ohio state’s playoff hopes and get to a bowl game. Also, players are trying to improve their draft stock.

It will be another tough matchup for Michigan’s anemic offense. Indiana ranks seventh in the nation in scoring defense, holding teams to 13.67 points per game and third in total defense, allowing 261 yards per game.

The defense set the stage, but Indiana’s offense was strong with sixth-year senior and Ohio transfer Kurtis Rourke under center. Michigan’s secondary was destroyed last week without Will Johnson and Jyaire Hill, and Johnson remains out of this match.

Michigan vs Indiana Picks Prediction

Tony Garcia, Detroit Free Press: If it says “USC” on the front of the jersey, this team would be ranked in the top five. Cignetti doesn’t mind letting it go, Rourke is a veteran quarterback making his 43rd start and the Hoosiers’ defense loves to ruin a quarterback’s afternoon (just ask MSU’s Aidan Chiles). Maybe UM keeps it close early, but more likely, there’s an outcome that seems inevitable. The pick: Indiana 34, UM 17.
