Dividend shares: They will trade the shares of several major companies and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), including Oil India, Power Grid Corporation of India, DCM Shriram, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), among others. ex-dividend in the coming week, starting Monday, November 11, 2024. According to BVB data, some companies have announced other corporate actions, such as stock splits.

The ex-dividend date is when the company’s equity share price adjusts to reflect the next dividend payment rate. It’s the day the stock goes ex-dividend, meaning it no longer carries the value of the next dividend payment from that day forward. Dividends are payable to all shareholders of the company whose names appear on the list of the company by the end of the record date.

A stock split is a corporate action that occurs when a company issues additional shares to shareholders to increase liquidity. The total number of shares issued is increased by a specified ratio based on previously held shares.

However, if the number of outstanding shares increases by a certain multiple, the total value (in rupees) of all the outstanding shares remains the same, as a split does not change the value of the company. The most common split ratios are 2-to-1 or 3-to-1 (noted as 2:1 or 3:1). For each share held before the split, each shareholder will have two or three shares, respectively, after the split.

The following are the stocks that have declared a bonus show next week:

Bajaj Steel Industries Ltd declared a 3:1 bonus issue. The shares will trade ex-bonus on November 12.

Worth Investment & Trading Co Ltd declared a bonus show in the ratio of 3:2. The shares will trade ex-bonus on November 14.

A bonus issue is a corporate share that gives existing shareholders the opportunity to subscribe for additional shares. Instead of increasing dividend payments, companies offer to distribute additional shares to shareholders. For example, the company may decide to grant one bonus share for every ten shares held.
