Find out how owning property abroad makes Brits happier and stops them TV & Radio | Showbiz and TV

Owning property overseas really makes you happy — and “stop moaning,” claims Place in the Sun presenter Jasmine Harman.

She discovered this while revisiting new British owners who had spent their first year in sunnier climes.

Harmin, 48, said: “Without exception, everyone I’ve gone back to visit and found a property for, there hasn’t been a single person who has regretted it.

“Everybody’s like, ‘You know, we’re so happy.’

She added, “Even though they had challenges and even though, you know, there were obstacles of sorts and they couldn’t come out for a year, they’re still so happy that they did it.”

But will the British stop moaning?

Harmin replied: “Your readers will find this hard to believe, but yes, they stop moaning.

“It’s because it’s a really life-changing thing for a lot of people and makes them very happy.”

Harmin first started presenting the hit Channel 4 series more than 20 years ago.

Closing a deal still makes her feel excited.

“I had one of those moments this morning where you negotiate and you end up agreeing on a price.

“It’s like a sea.

“You tell them, ‘Yes. We have! We have a business. It’s yours! This is your new home abroad. It’s just a wonderful feeling. And I always cry.

“I had an old cry this morning. I was so happy for them. This couple has had a lot of ups and downs and so they really deserved it.”
