Danger! fans claimed the show crossed the line with a recent hint throwing shade at Travis Kelce.

Kelce is known to many as a star tight end who won Super Bowls with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Additionally, he began to gain notoriety for his aspiring career in television and movies, including hosting Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? game show and appeared on FX’s drama series Grotesquerie.

However, he became known to more people after he started dating the pop singer Taylor Swift last year.

Swifties have a loyal fan base and will often defend anyone who criticizes Taylor or her man Travis.

Maybe that’s why Jeopardy! posted a public apology after he recently mentioned the soccer star during the show as fans slammed him.

Danger! said “sorry” for their clue Kelce

On a recent episode of Jeopardy!, host Ken Jennings presented the contestants with the clue: “‘Are you smarter than a celebrity?’ is hosted by this man who is perhaps more famous as BF than as a three-time Super Bowl champion.”

“Who is it Travis Kelce?” is the right answer because it hosts a reboot version of Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? on Amazon Prime, featuring celebrities. In addition, he has three Super Bowl rings as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs, along with quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

One contestant, Derek, gave the correct question for the game clue.

Danger! and Pop Culture Hazard! shared an Instagram post showing the clue, with an apology.

“I feel sorry for this man,” the caption on the post read.

However, the caption refers to an interview remark Keke Palmer made a few years ago about not knowing who former US Vice President Dick Cheney was, which went viral on social media.

“I hate to say this. I hope I don’t sound ridiculous. I wouldn’t know this man if I saw him walking down the street. I wouldn’t know anything,” she told Vanity Fair at the time.

“I feel sorry for this man,” Keke said.

Fans called the series “disgusting” for a “nasty” hint about Kelce

Fans flooded the Instagram comments section to share their feedback on Jeopardy!’s clue! While some laughed about it or gave the correct answer, several fans called the show out.

“Is that what we’re really stooping to?” one commenter asked, with another person commenting, “this was needlessly nasty.”

“I never thought I’d watch Jeopardy again lmao it’s disgusting…” one commenter said.

Another fan suggested one game show host is “jealous” of another, apparently referring to Ken Jennings taking “cheap shots” at Kelce with the hint.

“SMH Be better people!” the individual wrote in his Instagram comment.

Travis is still active in the NFL and his Chiefs are favorites to win the Super Bowl. They are currently undefeated with an 8-0 record. Kelce hasn’t looked as impressive as he has in previous seasons. From that report, he tallied 52 catches for 435 yards and a touchdown.

In addition to playing football and hosting a game show, Travis is also an actor. As mentioned, he had a role in FX’s Grotesquerie and will appear in the upcoming sequel Happy Gilmore 2, starring Adam Sandler.

Season 1 of Travis Kelce’s Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity? is available to stream on Amazon Prime. It features six celebrity episodes, including comedian Nikki Glaser, actress Nicole Byer and former NFL star turned analyst Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Jeopardy!’s spinoff, Pop Culture Jeopardy!, premieres on December 4th. Saturday Night Live star Colin Jost will host Wednesday episodes on Amazon’s Prime Video and is known for throwing plenty of comedic shade during SNL Weekend Update with co-star Michael Che.
