Brunswick man charged with possession, promotion of child pornography

A Brunswick man is in custody on child pornography charges after a tip led to a search of his residence

On November 7, 2024, Brunswick State Police, with the assistance of Troop G’s Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Task Force, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, arrested David J. Salinger, age 25 years, to promote a sexual performance. by a child, a class “D” felony, and possession of a sexual performance by a child, a class “E” felony.

Salinger is accused of promoting and owning images consistent with child sexual exploitation. His arrest followed an investigation and execution of a search warrant at his residence in Brunswick, NY on November 7, 2024. The investigation stemmed from a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).

Salinger was arrested and processed at SP Brunswick. He was then arraigned in Brunswick Town Court, where he was remanded to the Rensselaer County Correctional Facility in lieu of $75,000 cash or $750,000 partially secured bond.
