Former Chelsea FC star Hakim Ziyech, who leads Morocco’s national team, appears to have mocked the victims of overnight attacks on Israeli football fans in Amsterdam.

In an Instagram post, he equated violence against Jewish fans with Israeli military operations in Gaza.

“If it’s not women and children, then they’re running,” he wrote as he shared with his 11.4 million followers images of Israeli supporters fleeing a pro-Palestinian crowd.

“And you are still liberating Palestine,” he added.

Violence erupted following a Uefa The Europa League match between Ajax Amsterdam and IsraelMaccabi Tel Aviv, Thursday evening.
