Motorcycle accident claims life in Stamford

Stamford, CT – The Stamford Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Team is conducting an investigation into a fatal motorcycle accident that occurred near the intersection of Long Ridge Road and Brook Run Lane. The incident took place on Thursday, around 12:10

A 2014 BMW motorcycle was traveling north on Long Ridge Road when it veered off the roadway near Brook Run Lane. The car hit a fence and then collided with a tree, causing the rider to be ejected from the motorcycle.

The operator of the motorcycle, identified as 44-year-old Stamford resident Heber Lopez, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities encourage anyone with additional information or who may have witnessed the crash to contact the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Team at (203) 977-4712. The investigation is being led by Sgt. Jeffrey Booth and Officer Lindsey Yanicky.
