Exclusive | Meet NYC’s ‘Worst Drug Dealer’ –

An alleged drug dealer has been arrested 20 times in two years for selling crack, heroin, fentanyl and other drugs in Manhattan — but keeps getting back on the street, records show.

“We call him the worst drug dealer in New York,” a police source said of Brandon Hunter, 20.

“He just laughs. He says, “I’m going out anyway. It doesn’t matter.’”

Hunter was most recently arrested on Oct. 27 for allegedly selling crack at 6:50 p.m. at West 37th Street and Ninth Avenue in Midtown, according to a criminal complaint.

An alleged customer gave him cash, and Hunter “threw a small plastic vial at him, which the unknown individual retrieved,” according to the complaint.

When officers stopped Hunter, they found 84 vials of crack cocaine in the right pocket of his jacket and 39 vials of heroin and a rock of cocaine in the left pocket, authorities said in the complaint.

Hunter received supervised release on the drug possession charge, Special Narcotics Attorney’s Office spokeswoman Kati Cornell said.

The Special Narcotics Prosecutor’s Office has handled all narcotics cases by patrol officers in the Midtown South precinct for the past two years “in response to serious concerns about the area’s open and disruptive street commerce and high overdose rates,” Cornell. said.

This is the second time Hunter has been arrested in the same area, records show.

He was apprehended around 9 a.m. on May 4, 2023, at the corner of Eighth Avenue and West 38th Street, after police found him with 10 empty vials and suspected crack cocaine in his jacket pocket, 51 vials of suspected crack in pants pocket and $59 for it, according to an indictment.

He pleaded guilty to attempted drug possession with intent to sell on Feb. 7 and was sentenced to nine months at Rikers Island, which covered his other open cases, Cornell said.

He got out on July 25 after just five months behind bars — and was busted again three weeks later on Aug. 9, records show.

This time, Hunter, whose nickname is “Peanut,” had six blue glasses of suspected heroin in a black bag, a clear bag containing suspected crack cocaine and $146 on him, according to a criminal complaint.

At his accusation on August 9, the notoriously indulgent Judge Valentina Morales — who last year released a Venezuelan migrant without bail after allegedly stabbing a tourist in Times Square — acknowledged that Hunter had recently been released from prison.

“I’m concerned about the new charges considering he was just released,” she said, according to a court transcript.

Anyway, Moralez released Hunter on supervised release. An attorney listed for Hunter did not return calls seeking comment.

Hunter, who was arrested again less than three months after his last arrest, is now being considered for a drug treatment program, court records show.

“But he’s not a drug user,” the police source said. “He’s a drug dealer!”
