Clouds and chances of showers characterize the weekend

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – Unfortunately, our brief spell of sunshine is over as a storm system across the Central Plains brings changes for the weekend. Clouds will be dominant both today and tomorrow with the next chance of showers. Despite the gloomy weather, temperatures will still be slightly above seasonal averages in the 40s this time of year!

Low pressure will lift out of the southwest today, allowing for thick cloud cover with a few showers possible later this afternoon. Our southern counties may see some precipitation a little earlier, but coverage should be isolated to scattered in nature for any outdoor plans. East-southeast winds becoming breezy 7-13 mph, with a high near 50 this afternoon.

Shower chances hold us over until tomorrow morning before things dry out for the start of the week. That said, more rain is possible through Wednesday as temperatures cool behind a passing front.
