Throw yourself like a slot potato

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has told Jamie Carragher that he was not “informed enough” about his style of play.

Following the Reds’ 2-1 comeback win at Brighton, club legend Carragher claimed Slot did not want to see his side play the same “end-to-end football” they did under Jurgen Klopp.

However, days later, the Dutchman dismissed the analysis and stated that his resemblance to his German predecessor was the main reason he was hired.

Speaking to CBS Sports after Liverpool’s 4-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen, he said: “Most of the time in your career you’ve been right, in this situation maybe you weren’t well informed… I like the high press as much as Jurgen did.

Slot then added insult to injury after twice snubbing Carragher when asked to pick his favorite from the CBS panel, the latter joined by Thierry Henry, Micah Richards and host Kate Scott.

“You want the honest answer? Then it will be Kate, of course!” Slot smiled.

“But if I have to choose between the three men, then Tony, the (Liverpool) press officer will probably tell me I have to choose the one who played for Liverpool. But I came from an era where I watched a lot of Dennis Bergkamp for Arsenal along with Thierry Henry, so…”
