Will the Dolphins WR play in the Week 10 game against the Rams?

The Miami Dolphins have not often been at full strength on offense during the 2024 NFL season, and there appear to be questions about whether their skill position groups will be intact in Week 10.

Tyreek Hillrecipient no. 1 of the team, is dealing with an injury that has kept him out The dolphins training on Friday. That leaves many Miami fans and fantasy football owners wondering if Hill will be able to suit up in Week 10 or if he’ll need a week off to get going.

Here’s what you need to know about Hill’s injury and his status heading into Week 10.

Tyreek Hill injury update

Hill was a non-participant in Dolphins practice Friday while dealing with a wrist injury. Neither Hill nor the Dolphins have provided an update on his status beyond that.

Hill was not on Miami’s injury report for Thursday’s practice. He was listed as a full participant during the session, the first of the week Miami was required to file an injury report. So it looks like Hill’s disease is new.

The Dolphins play on “Monday Night Football” against him Los Angeles Rams in Week 10, so Miami still has to file an injury report after Saturday’s team practice. That will tell Dolphins fans and fantasy owners alike a lot more about Hill’s status for the game than his absence on Friday.

Does Tyreek Hill play Week 10 against the Rams?

It’s still unclear if Hill’s injury will keep him from playing for the Dolphins against the Rams in Week 10. Miami did not provide an update on Hill’s status after Friday’s practice, which provided little transparency on the severity of the injury.

It’s also unclear if the Dolphins gave Hill a day of rest, as teams often do with veterans. Miami gave the 30-year-old a day of rest before the Week 9 game when he was also listed with a foot injury, so it’s possible this could be a similar situation for the veteran pass rusher.

That said, Hill, who doesn’t earn the “rest” designation on the Week 10 injury report, throws some cold water on that theory. This is especially true given that Terron Armstead, Calais Campbell and Jordan Poyer missed Thursday’s practice, mostly for rest-related reasons.

Hill’s status at Saturday’s practice in Miami will be key in helping determine whether he will be cleared to full health, questionable, questionable or ruled out for Monday’s contest. His fantasy managers will want to keep a close eye on his status and be prepared to grab a backup option off the waiver wire if the star speedster isn’t able to suit up.

But right now, it’s too early to tell how serious Hill’s injury is.

Dolphins WR depth chart

The Dolphins have just five receivers on their 53-man roster right now, including Hill. They are as follows:

  1. Tyreek Hill

  2. Jaylen Waddle

  3. Odell Beckham Jr.

  4. Malik Washington

  5. Dee Eskridge

Waddle is the No. 1 option if Hill has to miss time, while Beckham and Washington would step into bigger roles within the receiving corps. The team could also get a veteran wide receiver Cracraft River back from a shoulder injury; could play a key role in replacing Hill.

In all, the Dolphins have seen 10 different receivers record this season. If Cracraft returns and plays in Week 10, that number will increase to 11.
