President-elect Donald Trump called on the “authorities” to investigate those spreading rumors about his sale Social Truth.

Since he beat the vice president Kamala Harrisrumors swirled online that Trump would sell Truth Social or merge it with the billionaire from Elon Musk X, formerly Twitter. However, on Friday afternoon, Trump sought to dispel those rumors, vowing to preserve the online platform created by his 2021 ban from Twitter.

Trump further claimed that any reports that he is selling shares of Truth Social are “probably illegal rumors” and called on “the proper authorities” to immediately investigate the matter.

“There are false, untrue and possibly illegal rumors and/or statements made by possibly market manipulators or short sellers that I am interested in selling shares of Truth,” Trump wrote before revealing in all caps. “THOSE RUMORS OR STATEMENTS ARE FALSE. I HAVE NO INTENT TO SELL!”

Conformable Business Insiderfollowing Trump’s statement, shares of Trump Media were up about 15% by late Friday afternoon.

The president-elect concluded: “I hereby request that the persons who started these rumors or false statements and who may have done so in the past, be immediately investigated by the proper authorities. Truth is an important part of our historic victory, and I strongly believe in it. Thank you for your attention to this matter. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
