PORTLAND Hours. (KPTV/Gray News) – A missing nurse has been found dead while on vacation in Hungary, according to authorities.

Budapest police said Mackenzie “Kenzie” Michalski, 31, was last seen in a Budapest nightclub on November 5 before she disappeared.

Police said investigators “noticed several suspicious circumstances” surrounding her disappearance and later identified a 37-year-old Irish man with whom she had been seen at several clubs.

During questioning, the man allegedly showed investigators where he hid Michalski’s body, Budapest police said.

He remains in police custody.

Michalski was a neurosurgery resident at Providence St. Vincent.

Providence released a statement saying they were “deeply saddened” by the news of her death.

The US State Department issued a statement saying it was working with the US Embassy in Budapest and police there.
