A pair of men accused of possessing stolen guns in a Bloomington home burglary

PEORIA (25 News now) – Two Springfield men are in jail accused of possessing guns that were stolen Monday from a Bloomington home.

Bloomington police said several guns were taken in a burglary that happened in the 800 block of East Washington Street.

Acting on a tip from Bloomington police, Springfield officers searched a home and recovered a semi-automatic handgun with an automatic switch and another semi-automatic handgun, along with several other items taken during the burglary.

Bradford House, 20, was arrested for unlawful use of a handgun and possession of a firearm without a firearm owner identification (FOID) card.

Frank Anderson, 23, was arrested for unlawful possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm without a firearm owner identification (FOID) card.

“This case is an excellent example of the success of using formal procedures already in place to communicate with nearby cities about firearm-related crimes,” Bloomington police said in a Facebook post Friday.

Both suspects are being held at the Sangamon County Jail.
