MARTA will suspend rail service at Indian Creek for bridge construction

Indian Creek Station (TUESDAY)

MARTA will temporarily suspend rail service to Indian Creek Station on Dec. 8 and 9 as part of an ongoing project to install a new pedestrian bridge and improve accessibility at the station. During this time, the Blue Line will terminate at Kensington Station, with MARTA offering bus shuttles to transport passengers between Indian Creek and Kensington Stations.

The closure is part of the Indian Creek Station Rehabilitation Project, an initiative focused on improving safety, accessibility and the overall customer experience at the station. The new pedestrian bridge, which will span the railway tracks, is designed to improve access for pedestrians and cyclists and will support a future network of paths on the north side of the station.

Additional improvements to the station as part of the redevelopment project include a full cleanup, floor replacement, west plaza renovation, bus loop improvements and toll gate improvements.

Although train service will be discontinued, parking will remain available at Indian Creek Station. MARTA encourages riders to park at Kensington Station to facilitate access during the construction period. All bus routes that normally serve Indian Creek will operate on their regular schedule.

Riders are advised to visit MARTA’s official website, itsmarta.com, for project updates and details on service changes.
