Susie Wiles is an excellent choice for Trump’s chief of staff

Donald Trump’s first public decision as president-elect was an excellent one: tapping Susie Wiles to serve as White House Chief of Staff.

She’ll be the first woman in the role, but she won’t fill any quota: As Trump himself notes, she’s been central to his winning campaigns.

A top Republican operative and strategist, she has deep experience and insight, returning to staff for the late great Rep. Jack Kemp (R-NY) and the 1980 campaign for Ronald Reagan.

If you don’t know her name, it’s only because she prefers it that way: In his victory speech on Wednesday, Trump said, “Susie likes to stay in the background. She is not in the background.”

Not now, anyway.

She’s tough and effective: Affectionately dubbed the “Ice Maiden” in the Trump camp, Wiles has been key to many successful Republican campaigns, helping Sen. Rick Scott won Florida’s governorship in 2010, and Gov. Ron DeSantis do the same in 2018.

DeSantis praised her as “the best in the business,” a title she earned.

Her down-to-earth, down-to-earth approach is a perfect fit for working with the boss’ big personality, who infamously clashed with chiefs of staff for his first term.

Now he is truly, truly “employee best”.

This move incidentally reveals the insanity of Mark Cuban’s idiotic “Donald Trump, you never see him around strong, intelligent women” diss and AOC. complaints about “misogyny” deciding the elections.

Strong women have now managed two winning US presidential campaigns, both for Trump.

Expect Susie Wiles to be the key to a winning second term.
