LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A man who was reported missing in September was found Monday in a railroad yard in west Lincoln.

Lincoln Police responded to a report of a body found under the Highway 77 overpass at the BNSF Hobson Yard, 801 West O Street, around 3:30 p.m.

He has been identified as Michael Atkins, 34, of Lexington, who was reported missing on 9/11. LPD notified next of kin.

LPD said an autopsy was performed Wednesday. Atkins’ death does not appear suspicious, however, the cause and manner of death are still under investigation.
