Manufacturer SC donates $1 million to Helene recovery efforts

SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) – South Carolina fiber optic manufacturer AFL has announced they are donating $1 million to support Helene recovery efforts.

The donation will be sent to Samaritan’s Purse and comes as communities continue to recover from the devastating impact.

Through Samaritan’s Purse, an organization that provides emergency assistance on the ground, the funds will provide direct, long-term support to areas most significantly affected by widespread storm damage.

“Supporting the communities where we work and live is ingrained in our culture. Our hearts go out to those affected by Hurricane Helene and we strive to do our part to support our friends, family and associates during these difficult times,” AFL President and CEO Jaxon Lang said in a statement.

In addition, the producer also raised $60,000 through donations to both Samaritan’s Purse and the American Red Cross. The company is committed to matching these contributions dollar for dollar, further amplifying the impact of community donations.

“We are grateful to our customers and associates for putting AFL in a position to contribute financially to these efforts, as well as to our manufacturing, product and sales teams who help electric utilities restock hardware and conductor cables used for reconstruction and restoration. the power grid,” Lang said.
