Austin police are still looking for the person responsible for fatal shooting in northeast Austin thursday evening

Police are asking the public to remain vigilant as the suspect has not yet been arrested, but they say they believe this was an isolated incident.

On Thursday, November 7, crime scene tape blocked off the business complexes at 290 and Calidad Drive in Northeast Austin. It was a scene one nearby business owner said he had never seen before.

“There were multiple 911 callers, multiple callers calling about multiple shootings,” Austin Police PIO Officer Leah Ratliff said.

The police arrived in the area shortly before 18:00 and found a person with obvious signs of trauma.

“Unfortunately, the victim was pronounced dead at a local hospital at 6:26 p.m.,” Officer Ratliff said.

The Austin Police Department has not released any information about the victim and is still searching for the person who fired the gun.

“Detectives from the Austin Police Department’s homicide unit are currently assigned to the call and are actively conducting an investigation,” said Officer Ratliff.
