A man was arrested on alleged drug trafficking and other charges on November 8.

Detectives with the Columbia Police Department (CPD) suspected Kyle Shepherd, 32, of Columbia, of multiple drug transactions.

Police obtained a search warrant for his home and also discovered he had a warrant for his arrest on a previous charge.

Court documents show detectives found Shepherd leaving the residence when they stopped his vehicle.

Police reported finding a knotted baggie with five suspected fentanyl pills in the driver’s compartment, with more than $600 in cash on his person.

Upon executing the search warrant at Shepherd’s residence, officers allegedly discovered:

• 45 grams of fentanyl
• a knotted bag containing 24 grams of suspected Xanax
• two knotted bags of alleged cocaine
• a bottle of 3.5 pink pills labeled Oxycodone
• $3,500 cash
• four firearms

CPD arrested the man and booked him into the Boone County Jail without bail.

Shepherd is charged with four counts of unlawful use of a weapon, two counts of delivery of a controlled substance and second-degree drug trafficking.
