Dave Portnoy and Josh Richards came to the defense of the ‘BFFs’ podcast co-host, Brianna LaPagliafollowing her separation from Zach Bryan. The pair publicly announced their split on social media when the 28-year-old shared on his Instagram Stories: “I thought it would be beneficial for both of us to go our separate ways. I’m not perfect and I never will be. Please respect Brianna’s privacy and space in this and if you have it in your heart, mine too.” This split shocked the 25-year-old as she felt blindsided by their sudden split.

In response, Dave took it upon himself to release a diss track aimed at the “Pink Skies” singer titled “Smallest Man”. The 47-year-old media personality spoke out in a video shared on X via the podcast account, “Okay, you think that’s all? Do you think we’re going to put “The Littlest Man” aside? I’m gonna write 10,000 diss tracks.” He added: “Maybe we’re doing ‘Dave’s version’ – I heard Bri might come in the booth and do her version.”

To find out more about what Dave had to say in the song and to break down some of the lyrics, keep reading below.

“I said trust me, I got your pants on fire / Tinder, Bumble, Raya, I knew you were a liar”

The song’s opening line references rumors that Zach has cheated and been found on dating apps, delivered by both Dave and co-host Josh.

“Looking for the pink sky, but now you see stars / There’s something in the orange and you’re behind these bars, motherfuckers”

The two went on to reference Zach’s September 2023 arrest for obstructing an investigation, according to online reports from the Craig County Sheriff’s Office.

“I Think You’re On Some Shit Tryna Diss Taylor Swift She Did A Hundo ‘Gram Stories’ Apologized Like A Slut”

In 2024, Bryan tweeted Xformerly known as Twitter, that he preferred Kanye West over Taylor Swift, stating: “eagles > Kanye heads > Taylor who’s with me.” This post led to major backlash and an apology on his Instagram stories, where he explained that the post was made while under the influence. “To be completely honest, it came across as rude and desensitized to Taylor. I respect her so much as a musician that the last thing I want is for people to think that I don’t appreciate and love what she’s done as a musician.” he shared. “Don’t drink and don’t tweet.”

“How lucky Bri is to be free of ZB”

The podcast supported Brianna by sampling Zach’s song “28” and expressing her relief that their friend had passed on.
