Police are working to find a missing woman in Wylie, Texas

Police in Texas are searching for Melonie Ballenger, a 46-year-old mother who disappeared earlier this week without her phone or car.

According to the Wylie Police Department, officers responded to a missing person’s report Monday at a local residence. Ballenger’s husband notified investigators that she was last seen at the home the night before.

Sgt. Donald English told local station NBCDFW that the husband, Daniel, “was cooperation with our investigatorsconducting interviews and helping with whatever is needed.”

Police launched extensive search efforts to try to find her.

“Officers along with investigators, K9 search dogs and a Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter searched the area for several hours but were unable to locate Melonie,” the department said in a statement.

Officials are issuing a CLEAR alert

Police say Ballenger is a white female, 5’7, 135 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. It is not clear what she was wearing at the time of her disappearance.

Police are asking for information from the public to find the missing woman. They also asked nearby neighbors to examine their camera footage for possible leads.

The Texas Department of Public Safety issued a CLEAR, or coordinated for law enforcement, on Thursday, according to the department.

According to the agency, the alert system helps authorities find missing, abducted or abducted adults between the ages of 18 and 64 who “are in immediate danger of injury or death.”

Searches are ongoing. Police told USA TODAY on Friday that there are no significant updates at this time.

Wylie is about 48 miles from Dallas.

Ballenger described as ‘amazing wife’

In addition to the phone and car, her husband, Daniel, said she left her blood pressure medication behind. She also had a heart operation.

“We’ve been married almost 22 years now, 22 in March. She’s a wonderful mother, an amazing wife, stay at home, kind of a private person, she keeps to herself for the most part, but she would do anything for anyone,” Daniel told NBCDFW.
